President’s Address
Annual General Meeting 2022
My warmest greetings to our Legal Advisor, Mr. James Edwin; MIPA’s Deputy President, Dr. Lee Boon Ho; Our Honorary Secretary, Mr. Teoh Chong Guan; Assistant Secretary, Miss Janet Chong; Our Honorary Treasurer, Miss Lai Choy Ha; Our 2020 – 2022 Committee Members; MIPA’s members and members of the floor. A healthy morning to all of you for participating in this year’s MIPA 14th AGM.
In the past year, the unprecedented business environment created by the pandemic has greatly dampened the investment confidence of international investors. The World Investment Report 2021, published by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, highlights the existing challenges to the system of international production arising from the new industrial revolution, growing economic nationalism and the sustainability imperative. The challenges have pushed the international production system to an inflection point. This has been further exacerbated by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the financial pressure on income has risen significantly.
Some of the affected key topics are small enterprises, subsidy transparency, technology transfer, standard setting, administrative enforcement, natural health practitioners and financial supervision. The emphasis is on the following factors: creating a fair and competitive business environment; and supporting economic development; highlighting the role of natural practitioners in a multi-polarization process. At present, this pandemic economy is facing profound changes, and due to the different mutated stages of COVID development, the community has wide divergent views on cooperation under the financial constrained framework, resulting in conflicting visions, income loss, and if far too long labor dormant may lead to demotivation.
With a third of the population working from home during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, a large volume of private and confidential information became more vulnerable to theft. For example, in the first 10 months of 2020, more than a thousand enterprises, including energy and electricity companies, around the world were attacked by “ransomware”. And with most of the economies in the world set to recover and countries expected to reopen their borders, the flow of data will sky-rocket, increasing the risk of cyberattacks, data breaches, and disruptions in infrastructure operations. The recent economic and trade openings in Malaysia will benefit not only Iridologists but also the recovery and revitalization of lives towards the new norm.
Systematic reinterpretation of traditional practices could better reflect MIPA’s image as encouragement for practicing reflective iridology introspection, and to a certain extent be applied to larger health entities after this pandemic. In The Art of Iridology, the Legend Dr. Bernard Jensen, a philosopher and health strategist, had wisely advised a dual evaluation of internal and external situations of our body as the way to strategic pre-eminence. Over the past 100 years, the world has been transforming for the better. Bearing similarities to logic characterizing complementary and traditional medicine, Iridology can help to locate and identify body weaknesses for a practitioner to cleanse, correct, repair and tone the system.
To our participating Iridologists, I trust that you will reaffirm your commitment to nation building by inspiring your fellow Malaysians to join us in pursuing genuine reforms in the bureaucracy as we strive to serve our people to the best of our abilities. With my utmost commitment to integrity, excellence and accountability, we will achieve a stronger and brighter future for all Iridologists.
Congratulations and I wish you more success…
In Iridology I served,
Dr Goh Kee Soon M.D.(A.M.) PhD.
