President’s Address

Annual General Meeting 2020

My warmest greetings to our Legal Advisor – Mr. James Edwin; MIPA’s Deputy President – Dr. Lee Boon Ho; our Honorary Secretary – Dr. Tan Gim Joo; Assistant Secretary – Miss Elaine Tang; our Honorary Treasurer – Dr. Lai Choy Ha; our 2017 – 2019 Committee Members; MIPA’s members and members of the floor. A healthy morning to all of you…

As we mark our 12th Annual General Meeting in the service industry, we also mark the growing community of health enthusiasts who are more than ever eager to pursue wellness. This annual gathering of our members and supporters allow us to continue our core mission to foster the community of health enthusiasts in our country. We aspire to make Iridology more accessible to Malaysians and we push to change the stigma that wellness is an exclusive, luxurious, calm and peaceful elements in our body. As we continue to uphold Iridology in Malaysia, we will also continuously push to reach globally – a destination where unforgettable experiences are bound to happen.

With rising environmental threats happening around the world, may we also remind ourselves to practice sustainability, be socially wise, and support eco-friendly culture! Let us be reminded that the Covid-19 pandemic is not just scary, but a reality to the health industry and a reminder to humans that “healthcare to wellness” is more important than “medical care to wellness.”

The world is changing constantly and with the advent of the digital age – the change has been happening at breakneck speed. The 1st Industrial Revolution happened in the 18th century with the discovery of the Steam Engine, which then paved the way for factories and the shift from agricultural-based economy to an economy driven by manufacturing. The 2nd Industrial Revolution peaked in the early 20th century with the introduction of the assembly line. This was really not about the invention of new technologies, but the discovery of processes to make factories more efficient. The 3rd Industrial Revolution started in the mid-20th century with the advent of computers and it is still happening now with the continued development of new IT technology. Today it is not merely about AI or robotics, but about how we can make use of the advances of the digital age to improve lives and living conditions. Thus, the 4th Industrial Revolution. You do not have to be someone techie to make the most of the 4th Industrial Revolution. What is needed is an eye for solutions using existing technologies as tools. In other words, if you are a problem solver; if you are a person that likes to look for solutions – like an inventor, a scientist or an entrepreneur – then you have the chance of making it big in Industry 4.0.

Consider Uber and Grab; taxi companies without cars; or AirBnB; a hospitality business without hotels. These companies have often been cited as the best examples of the 4th Industrial Revolution. What have they done? They used existing technologies and introduced solutions and new ways of doing things. This is what will unleash the potential of Industry 4.0 – the eye for new solutions. And the good news is – we are still in the dawn of the 4th Industrial Revolution. There are still many solutions out there waiting to be uncovered. Who knows – one of which may be Iridology!

One of the most quotable aphorisms from Albert Einstein is that “we cannot solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them.” We are literally working on a subconscious level to create what we believe to be true, whether we’re cognizant of doing so or not. This is why awakening to our next level of consciousness is the central task for humanity – and why a deeper kind of visioning is necessary before we can turn things around for the world – we can literally lift our viewpoint to an expanded possibility and observe what the world looks like from that level.

We, in MIPA assure you that we will continue to implement programs, educational and health talks that will further propel Iridology forward. Together, let us remain partners in building a more world- class, dynamic and prosperous career in Iridology. In solidarity, let us take further strides in building a more resilient, progressive and inclusive MIPA.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY and a colorful celebration!!

In Iridology I served,
Dr Goh Kee Soon M.D.(A.M.) PhD.
