What are the categories of MIPA members?
We have six categories as follows: –
- Founder membership
- Ordinary Practising membership
- Life membership
- Honorary membership
- Expatriate membership
- Associate membership

What are the joining fees?
You pay a sum of RM350 (for entrance fee of RM200 plus annual fee of RM150) and will be issued a member card and a membership certificate, upon approval.
What is the notice period to be given to the association for resignation?
The notice period to be given is 2 weeks and it must be in writing to the secretary. Member has to pay up all the arrears amount as well.
What causes the termination of membership?
- Unpaid subscription fee, due more than 6 months.
- Breach of code of ethics prescribed by the Private Healthcare Facilities and Services Act 1998.
- Expulsion for any conduct or action which is detrimental to the honour and integrity of the association.
How to re-join back, after expulsion?
Re-instatement is allowed through appeal in writing to the association, after two years and the decision by the committee is final.
Can I have my old membership number back, after re-joining?
Any member who re-joins within two years and pay up all the arrears, will maintain his/her old membership number. Member who applies to re-join after two years, will be considered as new member and be given a new membership number.
